Anna Sutcliffe

Agriculture
In honour of Lord Forres
Sustainability has always been an attitude that I adopt as I approach any task or activity.
I have always been into the "reduce, reuse, recycle" practice from shopping at op shops, repurposing stuff from council cleanups, minimizing waste, making my own clothes, no meaningless shopping, cooking at home, preserving produce, for example cooking marmalade from my own orange trees, shopping locally and from local farmers markets.
Just being conscious of my own impact on the world, and always seeking to minimize it. Both in Australia and globally, I am a partner and volunteer for Compassion, Samaritan's Purse International, Open Doors, Red Cross, Microlend, and Turning Point. All these non-for-profit organizations have a great commitment to making the world a better place through practical and financial aid, education and support to those most in need, homeless and hungry. One area I am particularly passionate about participating in is the farming gifts and assistance that we here in Australia can provide to people living in poverty around the world to help them support themselves and their families.
I am passionate about mentally and physically healthy workplaces, conserving rare breed livestock, protecting native species, and regenerative agricultural practices.
I hope to be able gain the training and opportunities required to employ staff, teach courses and educate the public, all the time, developing my own style of work.
I look forward to being on the receiving end of training, support and mentorship that the Global Footprints Network provides, and to travelling to New Zealand to learn about Work Health & Safety procedures in dairy farming. I hope that in time I’ll be able to collaborate for innovative ideas creating safe, thriving and healthy workplaces for the next generation of Australian vocational industry workers.
