Clive Sisley

Clive Joseph Sisley was Chairman and a Director of the Board of the Big Brother Movement (the predecessor of today's BBM Ltd) from 1950 to 1977.

During this time the organisation, in partnership with the Australian Government, operated Australia’s largest and most successful youth migration scheme which saw thousands of young men from the UK migrate to AUstralia to work in agriculture and many trades.

In 1982, when the sponsored migration scheme ended, the organisation sold its assets, including a Training Farm and accommodation. The funds were invested and the organisation evolved into the BBM Ltd of today.

After nearly six decades of supporting young people to migrate from the UK to Australia, BBM began to support young Australians to travel overseas for work experience.

Today's Global Footprints Scholarships are the legacy of the ‘Little Brothers’ who migrated to Australia, and of the organisation to which Clive Sisley dedicated more than 27 years of his life.

To honour this legacy, we annually award a Global Footprints Scholarship “In honour of Clive Sisley”.
